The numbers in the header rows are DYS numbers assigned by geneticists to a particular portion of the DNA chain found on the Y Chromosome. The values in the associated DYS number column for each volunteer indicate the number of times a set DNA code sequence is repeated at that position, a blank value indicates that the lab which did the testing for that individual did not report on that DYS, and unshaded value in htat marker's position indicates that the group standard for that marker is not yet established. Paired DYS numbers indicated in blue are tested and shown seperately but evaluated for comparison purposes as one. Blue in the 3rd column indicates confirmation of haplogroup by virtue of additional testing of the DNA, while red indicates estimated haplogroup based on individual marker values. Volunteers with only a 12 marker test will remain unclassified until an upgrade to additional markers is obtained, since a 12 marker test cannot be used to establish a relationship between two individuals. The 38 markers shown on this page are certain standard DYS markers that are tested by three major test services (DNA Heritage, Family Tree DNA, Relative Genetics), plus a few not tested by one of them. 38 additional markers can be found on Results Page 2, most of which are so far only tested by one test service. The significant differences between the first two groups show they are not closely related within historical times but both groups clearly descend from an ancestral group living aproximately 12 to 18 thousand years ago at the end of the last Ice Age in the Iberian peninsula.
